Hello people! In
this time we are going to learn the use of some connectors, “AND” and “BUT”.
They will help us
to LINK our sentences. In order to understand this, click the picture below:
Here, we can see
that the sentences with “but” and “and” have two CLAUSES and we have to focus on
them to chose the right connector.
If one of the
clauses has to be form in negative and the other in affirmative, we use BUT.
For example:
There is an airport
BUT there isn’t a railway station.
There aren’t any
cafés BUT there are some pubs.
If both clauses are
affirmative or negative, we use AND. For example:
There is an airport
AND there is a railway station.
There aren’t any
cafés AND there aren’t any pubs.
